Environmental, Social and Governance
Our dedication to sustainable and responsible urban development
Our core mission is to enhance urban landscapes while upholding the highest standards of environmental and social responsibility. We are deeply committed to not only protecting the environment but also creating spaces that inspire joy and promote healthier urban living. Our approach ensures that every project leaves the urban environment significantly better than before.
We embed sustainable design principles into every aspect of our work, from strategic placemaking to providing a dynamic and equitable workplace. By actively reducing our operational impacts and offsetting our greenhouse gas emissions, we make tangible contributions to both the physical and social environments. At Regal Innovations, we don’t just build spaces—we create lasting legacies that cities treasure.
Leading with Action in ESG
We are committed to leading the way in sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. Our efforts are empowered by our parent company, Sumitomo Forestry, consistently ranked in the top 1% in the S&P Global Corporation’s Sustainability Rating.
Sustainable Actions
Climate Active Certification
We are pursuing the Federal Government’s Carbon Neutral Certification for our main commercial operations. By July 2024, Regal will offset core operations in alignment with Scope 1 and Scope 2 benchmarks.
Investment into our Future
Aligned with the Sumitomo Forestry Group, we are part of a $415 million fund dedicated to enhancing forest management and carbon sequestration. This initiative will not only increase forestland value but also bolster biodiversity and water conservation, aiming to sequester an additional 1 million tons of carbon dioxide annually.
Community and Cultural Engagement
Supply Nation Membership
As a proud member of Supply Nation, our targets include achieving 5% Indigenous employment and ensuring 3% of our business spend supports Indigenous enterprises.
Wildflower Partnership
In collaboration with Wildflower Pty Ltd, a local Indigenous-owned landscape business, we're enhancing our projects through a meaningful exchange of knowledge. This partnership not only strengthens our commercial landscaping and business acumen but also enriches our techniques in Caring for Country, ensuring sustainable practices that respect and preserve the land.
Environmental Stewardship
Water Saving
Understanding our role in water conservation, we've implemented measures like rainwater tanks and targeted temporary irrigation to reduce potable water use by 25% by 2025.
Waste Recycling
We prioritise waste separation at our sites to maximise recycling and reuse. Innovations like onsite soil screening minimise landfill use, and our partnership with Concrete Recyclers helps us reuse materials efficiently.
